About Practis

Ready before the first paid lead, not after it

Practis gets field sales teams ready before they meet a paying customer. The people who sell for pest control, lawn care, HVAC, home improvement, and insurance companies are often canvassers, technicians, and comfort specialists, not people with “sales” in their title. Most get a few days of shadowing and a script, then start working leads the company paid for.

Practis changes that order. New hires practice real conversations in private with an AI coach. They certify against the PRACTIS™ Method, our published standard for field sales conversations, and only then take live leads. Operators get evidence on the metrics they already track. We deliver it as a managed service: the customer provides access and context, and we build the content, run the launch, and report the outcome.

How we work

The standards we sell are the ones we work by

We hire in the Kansas City metro first, so most of the team can work side by side. Strong candidates elsewhere in the US can work remotely, and customer-facing roles travel.

  • Credibility over polish

Our buyers have been sold to before. We win with claims a CFO can check, so every number we publish carries its base, population, and period.

  • We practice what we publish

Our method rules out manufactured urgency at the customer’s door, so we keep it out of our own marketing, sales, and hiring too.

  • Close to the field

Our customers sell at the door, on the phone, and at the kitchen table. We build for a technician between appointments, not a trainer at a desk.

  • A small team with real ownership

Every hire shapes how Practis sells, ships, and supports customers. You will own outcomes, not tickets.

How we hire

Five steps, each one explained before you take it

  1. Apply

About five minutes: your details, your resume, and a short narrative on why you fit the role. No need to retype your resume; we read it.

  2. Intro call

30 minutes on your background, what you want next, and whether Practis fits it.

  3. Role conversation

A deeper conversation with the hiring manager about the work itself.

  4. Working session

A short, practical exercise that mirrors the job: a discovery call, a pipeline plan, a marketing brief, or a small build. We tell you what we are looking for up front.

  5. Meet the founder

A conversation with our CEO, then references and an offer.

Questions

Working at Practis

What does Practis do?

Practis gets field sales teams ready before they meet a paying customer. New hires practice real conversations in private with an AI coach, certify against a published standard, and only then take live leads. It is delivered as a managed service to companies in pest control, lawn care, HVAC, home improvement, insurance, and other field services.

Where is Practis based?

Our team is centered in the Kansas City metro. We prefer candidates who live there or will relocate, and we hire remotely in the United States for the right candidate.

Can I work remotely?

Yes, for the right candidate in the United States. Every role prefers the Kansas City metro because most of the team works together there, and customer-facing roles travel for meetings and industry conferences.

How do I apply?

Choose a role and select “Start your application.” The form takes about five minutes. Upload your resume or share a link to it, and you do not need to retype your work history: we read it from your resume. Instead, tell us in a few paragraphs what makes you uniquely qualified for the role. Google asks you to sign in with any Google account so you can upload a file.

Do I need experience in field services?

No. It helps, and each role lists it as a bonus, but we hire for the skills in the required experience and teach the industry.

What happens after I apply?

A person on our team reads every application. If there is a fit, we reach out to schedule a 30-minute intro call, and we tell you what each later step involves before you take it.

Don’t see your role?

If you would make Practis better and the right opening is not listed yet, tell us about yourself. Choose “General interest” as the position and we will keep your application on file for future roles.
